Hayden will speak on the Touchstones of Edmund Rice Schools, with emphasis on ‘Liberating Education’. We will be looking at the questions: ‘What makes an Edmund Rice education truly liberating?’ & ‘What does the word liberating mean in a 21st century Edmund Rice school context?’

Hayden Kingdon is Deputy Headmaster, i/c of Catholic Character and Mission at St Peter’s College in Grafton, Auckland. He has taught at St Peter’s since 2004, and was Assistant Headmaster and DRS from 2006-2015.
In his own time, Hayden loves music and before his teaching career began at St Peter’s, he travelled through Europe and South East Asia singing and playing music in bands.
He is a passionate teacher of both philosophy and theology and specialises in teaching the Philosophy of Mind course to senior students at St Peter’s.
He is married to Damaris Kingdon and has two children Ophelia 16 (Year 12 at Marist College) and Paris Kingdon 15 (Year 10 at St Peter’s).
