Workshop topic: Whanaungatanga in Restorative Justice.

Moving beyond negative labels like ‘criminal’  and seeing a person that we can connect with holistically is a transformative experience.

Jackie Katounas is an internationally recognised contributor to the promotion and practice of Restorative Justice (RJ). In 2003 she received the Kamil Shehade Award, working in numerous prison outreach programmes as an RJ conference facilitator. She is the current  lead facilitator for RJ with the Edmund Rice Justice Trust Aotearoa.

Jackie brings with her a remarkable life story, experiencing the criminal justice system first as an offender for 20 years and now as a long term healer for both victims and offenders.  She intimately understands the process and power of Restorative Justice.
